INTRODUCTION
Boarding school is an educational
institution to print a religious man and independent. The students come to
learn and deepen the sciences of Islam, after they are considered to spread his

TARBIYATUT THOLABAH BOARDING SCHOOL
1. A Brief History of Tarbiyatut Tholabah Boarding School
Tarbiyatut Tholabah boarding
school is familiar called "TABAH" or "cottage Kranji",
located right on the northern coast of Lamongan, not far from the tomb of Sunan
Drajat. Precisely this boarding school is situated in the Kranji village,
Paciran sub- district, Lamongan district, East Java.
Actually, Tarbiyatut Tholabah
boarding school is including the oldest educational institutions in East Java
that has so far remained in existence and evolved into a center of educational
excellence. Is KH. Musthofa bin Abdul Karim, harismatic scholar who founded this boarding school, in 1898 M/1316 H. at the
request of the Village Kranji, kiai Musthofa who previously lived with his
wife, nyai Aminah, in the Sampurnan boarding school, Bungah, Gresik, willing to
live in the village of Kranji and established boarding school.
Kiai Musthofa presence in the
village was gradually getting a positive response that is wide enough, so the
number of students who initially only tens continues to grow. Not only from the
local area, but also from other regions.
At its inception, the public is
more familiar boarding school called Tarbiyatut Tholabah as "cottage
Kranji", because it is situated in the village of Kranji. Education
adopted the form of non-formal. Kiai Musthofa taught the students the science
of religion, the Qur'an, Hadith, Tafseer, Nahwu, Shorof, Balaghoh, Fiqh and
Sufism, and Morals by the method of the study group.
After kiai Musthofa death,
Tarbiyatut Tholabah boarding school was led by KH Abdul Karim Musthofa. Kiai
Abdul Karim widely known in his time, as the scholars' art expert reading of
the Qur'an which have distinctive sounds.
Furthermore, after the leadership
of kiai Abdul Karim, the boarding school of Tarbiyatut Tholabah raised by KH.
Adelan Abdul Qodir. Then followed by KH. Moh. Baqir after kiai Adelan death.
During Leadership of kiai Baqir,
boarding school was progressing rapidly. Kiai who many years to gain knowledge
of KH. Wahab Hasbullah in Tambak Beras boarding school and Bishri Syansuri in
Jombang Denanyar this done a lot of
breakthroughs raise the boarding school.
With his background as an
entrepreneur kiai, kiai Baqir expand the area and build a physical boarding
school with a representative building. Apart from community donations, the fund
of construction of boarding school is largely derived from the furniture
business, fishing and fishery shipyards which he developed.
After kiai Baqir died in 2006,
Tarbiyatut Tholabah boarding school was led by his son, KH. Moh. Nashrullah
Baqir. Now, this boarding school has formal institutions, such as, Kindergarten
(TK), Islamic Elementary School (MI), Islamic Junior Secondary School (MTs),
General Islamic Senior High School (MAU), Religious Islamic Senior High School
(MAK), Religious Islamic School , Ma'had 'Aliy College and Sunan Drajat College.
Despite their formal education
and modern institutions, Tarbiyatut Tholabah boarding school who do not leave
hallmark of traditional educational institutions. The book remains a classic
study of students every day activities. so that the Boarding school alumni have the ability to
balance between science and religion generally.
2. Tarbiyatut Tholabah Boarding School Profile
a. Tarbiyatut Tholabah boarding school which is currently
led by KH. Moh. Nasrullah Baqir was founded by KH. Musthofa in 1898 M./1316 H.
Located on Jl. KH. Musthofa Kranji village, Paciran sub-district, Lamongan
district, East Java province, located on the north coast of southern Java Sea
about 250 m.
Then Tarbiyatut Tholabah boarding
school in 1988. enlisting as a foundation with the name of the Foundation for
Tarbiyatut Tholabah Islamic Boarding School, Notary Rohayah Hanum, SH. No. 7,
then in 2007 changed Notary Hendri Asmara, SH. No. 43. May 15, 2007. Have a
legal entity with a Ministerial Decree Law and Human Rights Republic of.

b. Means and Infrastructure
Tarbiyatut Tholabah boarding
school has a land area of 17 hectares 13 hectares farmland and 4 hectares For
cottage area, with its status own land, gift, and lease. At this cottage
inhabited by more than 1500 students.
From time to time this boarding
school always seek the physical development (building) as the provision of
facilities for the citizens of boarding school, now this boarding school has
facilities and infrastructure include: a local foundation office, 2 locals
cottage office , 2 locals mosque, 10 locals complex, 105 rooms dormitory, 4 locals
library, a local clinic, 50 rooms bathroom, 5 locals canteen, 2 locals koppontren,
a local hall and several educational buildings ranging from kindergarten untill
College.

Tarbiyatut Tholabah boarding
